History of the Faculty
 
Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Academician Sh . Yesenova is a multidisciplinary university with a 45-year history in the Mangystau region, It has its own place and traditions in the domestic education system and has become the center of higher education, science and culture of the region. One of the largest faculties of this university is the Faculty of Business and Law.
 
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the faculty. If you look at history, then in 1992 the foundation of the atomic energy faculty was laid for the first time. The department Economics, Management and Organization of Industrial Production has started working as part of the faculty. The dean of the faculty was Professor N.R.Sadykov, the head of the department was Ph.D., Associate Professor G. M.Osipova. The first staff of the department included teachers such as G.Osipova, N.Akhmetov, A.Glushkov, G.Davletova, G.Dzholdasbayeva, A.Akkaisieva, K.Sakhanova, L.Yurina, etc.
 
In 1999, the faculty was renamed the Engineering and Technical Faculty. The dean of the faculty was Professor N.R. Sadykov. The departments of the economic direction were divided and reorganized into two departments as Organization and management of production and Economics and Management.
 
In 2001, as a result of the merger of the Department of Economics and Management and the Aktau branch of the Kazakh Academic University, the Faculty of Economics and Law was established. The departments of Economics, Management and Jurisprudence worked at the faculty level.
 
G.U.Dzholdasbayeva was appointed the first dean of the faculty, G.A.Saimagambetova and M.Sersembayev were the deputy deans.
 
In the period from 2005 to 2012, the faculty was transformed into the Institute of Economics and Law and several new specialties were opened in those years. In 2005 , the faculty consisted of 5 departments 1) Economics; 2) Management; 3) Finance and Accounting; 4) State and Civil law disciplines; 5) Criminal law disciplines.
 
In 2006, due to the increase in the number of students, the Department of Finance and Accounting was divided into the departments of Finance and Accounting and Audit. A new department International Relations was also opened.
 
In 2013-2018, the Institute of Economics and Law was renamed the Faculty of Economics and Law. Since the 2018-2019 academic year, the faculty has been renamed and is still called the Faculty of Business and Law, which includes the departments of Economics, Management, Finance, and Law.
 
Currently, the Faculty of Business and Law trains specialists for state and local governments, national companies, industrial enterprises, law enforcement agencies, fiscal institutions, the banking system, research centers and educational institutions. The training is carried out at three levels bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies. Of these, bachelors are trained in 9 educational programs, 5 undergraduates are trained in educational programs, 3 doctoral students are trained in educational programs, and masters in the MBA program are also graduatedEMBA (Business Administration).
 
Last academic year, the skills and competencies model was revised, new educational programs were developed that are in demand in the changing labor market, and all educational programs were supplemented and revised. The updated educational programs are aimed at competence and ensuring the quality of education.
 
The main goal of the faculty is to ensure quality education and the quality of updated educational programs in accordance with the requirements of the modern market.
